Dance workshop – Maasai Mara
The Maasai dance workshop in Maasai Mara Kenya was held from 27th April to 10th March 2018 and Participants from France, Denmark, Spain, USA and Kenya came together to learn Maasai dance and improvise on Maasai Voices “Orgos”.
The Maasai dance is based on breathing pattern whereby the dancer produces deep breathing voices and undulate the torso.
The participants got the opportunity to visit the famous Maasai Mara game reserve and saw the Lions, Elephants, buffaloes, Leopards, Giraffes, Gazelles, Wildebeest, Zebras…
In the afternoons activities like nature walks, climbing the nearby hill ” Lenganishu” meaning the hill of cattle for great view of Mara reserve. A visit to Maasai village and the local market a way to mingle and exchange with the locals.
The other activities during the workshop was making of the beads with Maasai women.
An opportunity to learn their art of bead making.
